5 Ways to Stay Secure Online

TLDR;

  • Hook up to a network that you know – open networks can be a very vulnerable place.
  • Bank and shop with caution – Shop on familiar websites such as Amazon or eBay especially those that have encrypted payment portals.
  • Use secure passwords – A good mix of letters, numbers and characters is considered good practice.
  • Lock your computer – even if you’re away for 5 minutes, you never know who could be watching.
  • Do not click on anything unfamiliar – if you receive a suspicious email, always proceed with caution and check with your IT team first.
