Why did we attend?
Along with almost 60 businesses, the team at Finch Technical Solutions exhibited at the latest Cheshire Business Expo event at the Mornflake Stadium on Tuesday, 10th September 2024. In attendance were Jacob, our Digital Marketing Lead and Sean, our Senior Technical Lead.
With our primary office based in Crewe, this was our first ever exhibition since we launched our business back in early 2021.
We were keen to discover and connect with the local business community to find out more about what they offered. We also attended to educate the visitors on why antivirus was soooo last decade and switching to advanced 24×7 managed protection was the way forward.
A bit more about our theme
Ever exhibitor should have a theme, right?
Well, this time our theme was dedicated to talking about how traditional antivirus isn’t cutting it anymore.
Long are the days where paying a yearly subscription to a “traditional” antivirus company protects your small business.
In fact, 58% of small businesses experienced a cyber attack or breach in the last 12 months according to the latest UK Government cyber security breaches survey.
So, with technology moving as fast as it is, and cyber attacks becoming more sophisticated, it’s time for SMEs to have a BETTER solution.
Our Managed Detection & Response service effortlessly combines the power of software with people!
The software uses machine learning and AI to constantly monitor your IT equipment (we call them endpoints) for unusual or threatening activity.
Coupled with the people part, our team of security experts (we call them our SOC team), reviews the data from the software and fixes any issues that arrive – hence the “managed” part.
All of this is incredibly affordable to small businesses and complies directly with all the recent advice from the NCSC, NIST and FCA.
Thoughts from our team about the Expo
Our debrief after the event left us with an exciting and humbling experience, as most of the exhibitors in the room were exhibiting for the first time – like us!
We had an incredible opportunity to take part in open networking from the team at NetworkIN and listen to an inspiring talk led by Jay Allen from MyTrueNorth Coaching.
Both Jacob and Sean had the opportunity to go around the room (multiple times) to engage with business leaders in Crewe about their themes and stories for why they were in attendance.
It was a great experience as our first time exhibiting and it leaves us very hopeful for the future!
